![]() While some small cruise ships can dock in the Old Harbor section of downtown Reykjavik, most modern cruise ships dock at the Sundahofn harbor about two miles (three km) from the center of town.
Sundahofen has berths for four cruise ships. There is no terminal building per se. Rather, passengers enter and exit via temporary tent-like structures. However, there is a permanent building with tourist information by the parking lot. Most cruise lines provide a shuttle that takes you from the port to the Harpa Concert Hall in the center of town. Whether there is a charge for the shuttle depends on your cruise line. Alternatively, you can walk to the center of town along a paved path that runs by the sea. It is a pleasant but long walk on a nice day as the seashore is relatively undeveloped. The path passes a number of sites including the Sun Voyager sculpture and the Sigurjon Olafson Museum.
