THE PORTLAND
HEAD LIGHT

       Lighthouses are very picturesque. However, much of their charm cannot be captured in a still photo.  This is because there is something majestic in a lighthouse's defiant stand against the sea and to experience that fully you need to be be able to see and hear the ocean's powerful waves crashing into the rocks below the lighthouse.
       In this video, the Portland Head Lighthouse is shown in the late summer sun.  But even on such a day, the power of the ocean is evident as the waves break against the rocks.
