Attractions
The Kennedy Space Center is visible from the port. It has a visitor center where you can see equipment used in sending a man to the Moon as well as from the Space Shuttle program. (See separate article). Separately, there is the U.S. Air Force Space and Missle Museum with exhibits including missiles, rockets and satellites.

Not all of the Space Coast is taken up with rocket launchpads. South of the entrance to the harbor is a wide sandy beach that stretches for miles. Jetty Park with four acres of beach has facilities for camping and fishing as well as for swimming and surfing. There are outdoor showers and vendors offer beach chairs. Further along the coast is Coco Beach with surfing and beach facilities as well as shopping.

The Port Canaveral area has over 250 square miles of protected wildlife refuges. Tours take visitors into the marshy wetlands and along the coastal waterways. (See separate article). Airboats skim along the the shallows in search of alligators. Tour boats look for manatees, dolphins and rare birds.
