CRUISING TO THE BAHAMAS:

COCO CAY
Shopping and Other Attractions

Coco Cay Bahamas
The most visible of Coco Cay's attractions is Up, Up and Away.  For an additional charge, you can take a 10-minute ride in a helium balloon.  The balloon ascends up to 450 feet above the island.  Do not worry that you might drift off in the wind and miss the rest of your cruise because the balloon remains tethered to the ground during the flight.  Also, no flights are made if the wind is too strong.

While it is not as long or spectacular as the one at Labadee, Coco Cay now offers a zip line experience.  For an additional charge, guests can fly from a tower near the Thrill Waterpark and across the Harbor inlet through its fountain to the Chill Island side of the inlet.   The course is 1,600 feet long.

Shopping

If you turn left at the end of the pier and walk across the bridge to the Chill Island area, you come to Coco Cay's shopping area.  It has stalls stocked with clothing and various local crafts.

Sports

Coco Cay provides a substantial variety of water sports options. Among the equipment that can be rented are Hobbie Cats, Paddle Boats, wet suits, kayaks, snorkeling
equipment and floating beach mats.   In addition, there
are various organized activities, such as parasailing,
scuba diving, and tours that are available through the
ship’s shore excursions offices.

Young travelers

Of interest to young passengers is Captain Jill's Galleon.  Built in the shape of a pirate ship, this attraction has three dry slides and 16 water cannons.  It is located just as you come off the pier.

Not far away is the more extensive waterpark, Splashaway Bay.  This is a complimentary venue with sprinklers, geysers, three huge drench buckets, fountains, pools and five waterslides.  There are also tables around the perimeter of the play area for families.

Relaxation

For those looking for less energetic activities, Coco Cay has hair braiding (above) and spa treatments (right).

There are also hammocks beneath the palms (below).
