St. Peter’s Great House is a frequent stop on tours of St. Thomas. It is built on what was the 150-acre Plantation St. Peter.
Today, the house is used primarily for conferences, receptions and events. Its rooms are decorated in a contemporary, luxurious Caribbean style. As such, they are more of interest as a look at contemporary rather than historical life The main attraction of this venue is outdoors where there are stunning views over the south side of the island including Magens Bay and of some 15 neighboring islands and cays. Running down the side of the hill is the botanical garden. This lush tropical expanse contains over 250 species of plants. There is also an aviary with tropical birds. |
