Starting on the northern side of the peninsula, there is a picturesque beach with sand and palm trees extending from the Dragon's Rock area to the Adrenaline Beach area. The waves coming into this beach are not interrupted in their progress and can be quite strong. Accordingly, the beach is marked in the RCI brochure as being for sunbathing rather than swimming.
Until recently, this stretch of beach had a single continuous waterfront. However, at two points breakers have been constructed perpendicular to the beach thus dividing the water into sections.
There are loungers and sun shelters at this beach. Bars and food outlets are close by. This is a very popular area as it is not far from the pier where the ships dock.
Further along where the north side of the peninsula joins with the main land is Adrenaline Beach. Many of the sports facilities are concentrated here including the volleyball and basketball courts, the soccer field and the entrance to the Dragon Tail Coaster. Overhead, riders on the Dragon's Breath Flight Line zip down from the hill overlooking the beach on their flight across to Dragon's Rock. A line of breakers has been added here so the waves from the sea crash against those rocks rather than the beach itself.
On the other side of the peninsula is the Barefoot Beach Club. This is a luxury area reserved for the guests staying in the ship's suites. It features wooden cabanas, premium padded loungers and hammocks tied between the palms. The area has its own bar and buffet. The beach itself is a calm, sheltered spot with nice white sand.
Next to the Barefoot Beach Club is Nellie's Beach, a small cove that is unmarked on the map. In many respects it resembles Barefoot Beach with its white sand, palm trees and sheltered waters.
Separated from Nellie's Beach by a rocky wooded rise from the neighboring beach is Columbus Cove. It runs along the area where the southern part of the peninsula meets the mainland. The waters are sheltered and there is a white sandy beach with trees that go down to the water's edge. This area has its own bar and dining facility. Guests can also obtain floating mats, wet suits and water craft.
