CRUISING TO THE CHANNEL ISLANDS:

JERSEY

Cruise Port

Jersey is a tender port for almost all cruise ships calling at the island. The ships anchor off of St. Hellier on the southern coast and passengers are transported to and from the island by boat.

The harbor at St. Helier is protected by man-made sea walls. Much of the harbor is taken up with a pleasure boat marina but commercial vessels also use the harbor.
Tenders dock at the Albert Pier. Because the tides vary greatly during the course of the day, passengers alight from the tenders onto a floating pontoon. They then walk up a ramp to the pier itself. The steepness of the ramp changes with the tide.

The Albert Pier is in the heart of St. Helier. Most of the city's shops, museums and other attractions are within walking distance of the pier.
